Tyler Perry Studios in Atlanta has grown to 330 acres, making it the largest film studio in the country. The deed on the land was transferred from Tyler Perry Investment, LLC to Tyler Perry Studios, LLC on December 27. The studio's expansion comes as demand for film locations increases in metro Atlanta.
The new property will allow Perry to build a retail and entertainment district that will include an arena, hotel, restaurant and other amenities. “Our goal is to provide the best possible experience for any production at our studio, and we are thrilled to be able to offer more space with this expansion," said producer/director Tyler Perry in a statement.
In addition to the studio and its offices and filming stages, the site includes a soundstage building with production facilities; a back lot with recreated sets from other parts of town; an outdoor stage for live performances; and two screening rooms.
Perry has already taken the studio to the next level in a number of ways, including erecting 12 sound stages, and even one named after Oprah Winfrey.
